12th International Attachment Conference Munich "Attachment and Psychosomatics" (2013)

Today, even though the bio-psycho-social-ecological understanding of health and disease is under discussion worldwide, it has not by any means gained anything like universal acceptance. Psychosomatic research and developments in the treatment of psychosomatic patients have added considerably to this discussion.

How do patients experience the interplay between body, mind, soul, and environment? Why do genes and experiences during pregnancy and early-childhood, especially in relation to the development of attachment, have such a persistent effect on all of these areas throughout the lifespan? What role can the diagnosis of psychosomatic conditions, psychotherapy, and prevention have in the context of chronic disease? Is prevention of psychosomatic disorders even possible? Internationally renowned researchers, clinicians, educators, and psychotherapists try to answer these questions and report on the results of their latest studies and on their clinical experiences.

Target groups
The conference is aimed at physicians from all disciplines as well as psychologists, psychotherapists, psychiatrists, social workers, educators, youth workers, and all therapists and counselors involved in the diagnosis and treatment of psychosomatic disorders in infants, children, adolescents and adults. We also invite all professionals who provide care and support to psychosomatically ill patients in all age groups, such as teachers, nurses, remedial teachers, contact supervisors, ergotherapists, physical therapists, pastors, jurists, politicians, and parents.
